BEIJING, December 4 (Xinhua) - A spokesperson for the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) responded to questions from reporters on December 4 regarding the U.S. release of export control measures on semiconductors to China, stating that the Chinese business community calls on the U.S. to immediately cease unilateral restrictive measures, comply with international economic and trade rules, and take practical actions to promote the healthy development of the global semiconductor industry, maintain the security and stability of the global industrial and supply chains, and turn the global industrial and supply chains into a "win-win chain" for the world.

Recently, the U.S. has released export control measures on semiconductors to China, further tightening restrictions on the export of semiconductor manufacturing equipment, memory chips, and other items to China, and adding 136 Chinese entities to the export control entity list.

In response, the CCPIT spokesperson stated that the Chinese business community firmly opposes the U.S.'s misuse of export control measures and the long-arm jurisdiction over Chinese companies. The U.S.'s economic coercion and blockade against Chinese industry enterprises severely violate the laws of market economy and the principles of fair competition. The U.S., disregarding international economic and trade rules, is determined to disrupt the stable cooperation of the global industrial and supply chains, which will inevitably have a serious impact on the global semiconductor industry, including U.S. companies.

The spokesperson said that the global semiconductor industry has always been in close communication and cooperation. The misuse of unilateral sanctions will severely affect the foundation of global semiconductor industry cooperation and development. Maintaining the resilience and stability of the global industrial and supply chains, including the semiconductor industry, is an important guarantee for promoting the sustainable development of the world economy and is in the common interest of the international community and companies of all countries.
