At the monthly press conference of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade on October 31, spokesman Sun Xiao revealed that numerous data and activities organized by the Council have shown that foreign enterprises are optimistic about the Chinese market and have firm confidence in investing in China.
Sun Xiao pointed out that since the beginning of this year, the national trade promotion system has held more than 540 foreign-funded enterprises symposium and conducted field research on more than 3,300 foreign-funded enterprises. Ccpit's "Invest in China" platform has released 1,312 investment news articles, 244 policy documents, 44 research reports and 780 investment promotion projects. In addition, "Foreign enterprise local tour" activities were held in Hainan, Inner Mongolia, Shaanxi, Chongqing and other places, aiming to understand the needs of foreign enterprises and help their development.
After conducting a questionnaire survey on more than 400 foreign-funded enterprises and in-depth research on more than 50 foreign chambers of commerce and foreign-funded enterprises, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) released the Report on the Foreign Business Environment in China in the third Quarter of 2024. According to the report, about 90 percent of the foreign companies surveyed expressed "satisfaction" or higher evaluation of China's business environment, especially in terms of "market access", "obtaining business premises" and "handling business closure procedures".
The report also shows that from a market perspective, foreign enterprises continue to have a positive view of the Chinese market. 41.67% of European business respondents rated the outlook for the Chinese market as "good", up 14.17 percentage points from the previous quarter. Nearly half of the foreign-invested enterprises believe that the Chinese market has become more attractive, an increase of 2.04 percentage points. Among them, 47.92% of European enterprises and 60% of American enterprises believe that the Chinese market has become more attractive, an increase of 5.42 and 15.26 percentage points respectively.
In terms of business conditions, the report shows that foreign enterprises have increased their willingness to invest in China. About 20% of the surveyed foreign enterprises plan to increase investment in China, an increase of 2.07 percentage points, especially European enterprises are more willing to increase capital, an increase of 2.5 percentage points. The eastern region is the main area for foreign enterprises to increase capital, accounting for 59.52%. Expanding production scale in China or digital transformation are the main ways for foreign enterprises to increase capital, accounting for 54.76%.
Sun Xiao said that in the future, we will continue to play the role of special classes serving foreign enterprises, constantly innovate service methods, and cooperate with all parties to provide better support and better service for foreign enterprises to help them develop in the Chinese market.
